Hello my name is Mai Spann-Wilson, LSW. I specialize in working with folks who are struggling with anxiety, stress, grief/loss. I provide talk therapy and mindfulness techniques as resources to assist with life's challenges. It my belief that incorporating a holistic approach is important when providing therapy. This means connecting deeper with your emotions, your psychological needs, and gaining an understanding of the impact traumatic events have on the body. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental environment for you to gain insight about your own feelings and thoughts. Currently, I am seeing clients for individual therapy, couple's therapy and family therapy.
It my belief that incorporating a holistic approach is important when providing therapy. Therefore, each of my clients are equipped with tools to practice mediation and mindfulness.
My specialty is working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and trauma. I believe in using a holistic approach and will incorporate mindfulness and breathing into sessions. During therapy I tend to lean most on using both Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques.
In addition to my work as a therapist I currently teach Clinical Practice I and Clinical Practice II to future therapists at Temple University.
